November/December session topic: "Prop-alooza"!
Let's finish off this calendar year with a thorough review of the major props we use in Middle Eastern Dance, with emphasis on integrating them into your oriental-style bellydance. All too often when we dance with a prop, we put all our attention into flapping it around or otherwise moving it around in space, and forget to actually dance!
I will teach you a series of versatile dance combinations that can be modified easily for each prop. Each week we will review the technique for a different prop, and then practice the combinations using that prop. We will cover veil, Egyptian cane, and finger cymbals specifically (Loaner props available upon request.) The last week will be dancer's choice - bring any prop you want and we will incorporate it into class!
Class Tuition: $48 for 4 weeks, drop in for $17 a class. Class size limited to 10 people.
